Kabelo Selekolo, eLearning specialist

Twelve years turning technical, regulated and frankly difficult content into learning that people finish and understand. Design, media and code, all under one roof.

01 / Introduction

I work across the whole production line, from the first SME interview to the finished course sitting on the LMS. That means I can take a project the whole way instead of handing it between four people and hoping it survives.

My background is insurance, banking, retail and healthcare funding, so compliance heavy material and strict brand guidelines are normal territory for me. I have written for call centre agents, payroll administrators, claims assessors and executives, and the job is always the same one: take something dense and make it usable.

I also build my own HTML modules when an authoring tool cannot give the client what they actually need. Sequential navigation, interactive panels, audio transcripts, gamified activities, all on brand and all built to behave properly on a phone.

Four builds

Lesson 01

Human anatomy and medical conditions

A series covering the major body systems and the conditions attached to them, built for staff who assess claims and speak to members every day. Each lesson runs on sequential navigation with its own narration and a full transcript, so people can listen, read, or do both.

Lesson 02

Disability awareness

Most people are not unkind about disability, they are just uncomfortable and afraid of saying the wrong thing. This module deals with that head on. It covers the different types of disability, the language to use and the language to drop, how to offer help without assuming it is wanted, and what the law expects of an employer. Real scenarios, real voices, no lecturing.

Lesson 03

Medical terminology

Instead of asking staff to memorise a dictionary, this one teaches the building blocks. Prefixes, root words and suffixes, so somebody on a call can break down a term they have never seen before and still sound like they know what they are talking about. Built as short lessons with drag and drop practice, a pronunciation clip on every term and a glossary they can search long after the course is done.

Lesson 04

Financial wellness

Money training usually fails because it starts with advice. This one starts with an honest look in the mirror. Learners work through an interactive reflection activity that shows them where their money is actually going before the module says a word about budgeting, debt or saving. By the time the advice arrives, they are ready to hear it.

03 / How I build

The production line

Stage 01

Scope and interview

Sit with the subject matter expert, find out what the learner must be able to do afterwards, and cut everything that does not serve that.

Stage 02

Design and storyboard

Structure, flow, screen by screen storyboard and assessment plan, signed off before a single asset is made.

Stage 03

Media production

Voice over, audio editing, graphics, video and motion, all produced in house so the cost and the turnaround stay low.

Stage 04

Build

Custom HTML, CSS and JavaScript where the client needs something specific, Storyline or Rise where speed matters more.

Stage 05

Quality and SCORM

Content check, brand check, accessibility, then SCORM packaging and testing on the real LMS, not just locally.

Stage 06

Load and report

Enrolments, course loading, completion tracking and the reports that tell the business who is trained and who is not.

I use AI as a production assistant, not as a shortcut past the thinking.

I design my own prompt structures and keep reusable prompt libraries for repeat course types, then apply them across research, scripting, storyboarding, media creation and quality checking. It takes weeks off a build.

I am just as clear about where it should not go. Anything that touches regulated wording or client specific policy detail goes through a human and a subject matter expert, every time.
